About Me
I have always had a passion for learning new things. I love technology and helping others gives me great fulfillment. I am forever in the pursuit of finding out what's new in the world of technology, and understanding how it works. My ability to step back and look at a problem from step one, and then question every step along the way, has allowed me to simplify and solve many problems presented to me in the past. I believe that being knowledgable isn't about how much you're able to memorize, but rather knowing what resources you have available, and knowing when and where to find them.
At my current position at Apple, I get to create relationships with a large number of customers. I make sure they leave happy by listening, ensuring I understand what they are trying to accomplish, and then tailoring a solution to their situation. Customers trust me to find a solution to issues that are affecting their life. I am passionate about exceeding their expectations to make them feel confident with their product and with the brand, because seeing a customer leave with a smile is how I get satisfaction from the work I do. My previous positions at Staples helped me develop into the professional I am today. I started as a part time sales associate, and worked my way through many different roles. I was a part of their management development program, and as a business support manager learned about the operational aspects of running a business. In 2008 I was chosen by Ontario's Small Business Enterprise Centre to participate in the Summer Company program, and was given a $3000 grant to start and run my own business.
In my spare time I have taken on challenges like setting up a private VPN, setting up file and e-mail servers, installing and configuring different linux distributions, and networking and managing each device in my house to create a setup that is custom and easy to use. I learn by doing, and enjoy taking on projects to expand my skill set. I have a motorcycle, and spend most of my time off with my friends, reading about or playing with technology, or watching TED talks, Game of Thones, or Criminal Minds.
